Dr. Jeffrey Collins was raised on a ranch in the Central Valley of California. For the decade after high school, he drove heavy equipment and worked as a diesel mechanic. He then moved to the Central Coast and held marine mechanic and commercial fishing jobs. He believes those experiences enable him to relate to most people, and sometimes his patients are surprised to learn that after high school he did not go straight to college and dental school.
Dr. Collins has always been skilled with his hands and has always been interested in the medical profession so, he returned to school in his late twenties to pursue a career in dentistry. While attending Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, California, he majored in Biochemistry with a minor in Biotechnology. In 1989, he was accepted to dental school in San Francisco. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1992.
Dr. Collins is a member of the Arizona Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He stays updated with the current technologies, techniques, and trends in dentistry. He regularly attends continuing education courses in order to constantly improve his skills.
